Dr. Becker has been a respected and well-known member of the Vero Beach community since 1972, when he located here after completing his surgical residency. Dr. Becker received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his residency in head and neck surgery at Charity Hospital of Louisiana.
Dr. Becker is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has received the high honor of being listed in the charter edition of the prestigious reference source, "The Best Doctors in America", which was initially published in 1992. Dr. Becker has been listed in each subsequent update of "The Best Doctors in America," under the subspecialty of facial plastic surgery.
In addition, Dr. Becker has also been listed in Castle Connolly's "America's Top Doctors," a compilation of the nation's top referral specialists, since its inception in 2000. And in 2003, Dr. Becker was listed in Castle Connolly's charter edition of "America's Cosmetic Doctors and Dentists," as well as the "Guide to America's Top Physicians," compiled by the Consumer Research Council of America. He was also voted one of Orlando's top doctors by "Orlando Magazine."
Dr. Becker has received numerous awards and is internationally recognized for his work in facial plastic surgery. Most notably, in 1995, Dr. Becker received the William Wright Award from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, for his contributions to the field. The Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons established the annual Ferdinand F. Becker Lectureship in Facial Plastic Surgery in 1990. And in April 2003, Dr. Becker was given the distinction of being the Guest of Honor at the annual convention of the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, during which he was recognized as "the foremost facial plastic surgeon in Florida."
Dr. Becker has been named a national training center physician for the Botox Cosmetic Network Perceptorship Training Program sponsored by Allergan, which manufactures Botox. The program is designed to provide training opportunities to physicians on the proper use of Botox. Dr. Becker was one of the first physicians in the area to use Botox for cosmetic purposes.
Dr. Becker is an avid supporter of many charitable and civic causes, including the Samaritan Center, the Women’s Refuge, The Center for the Arts, Riverside Theatre, and his church. Dr. Becker is an avid walker and an award winning Amateur Outdoor Photographer.
