of its facilities and services. "Accreditation with AAAHC
underscores our long-standing commitment to providing the highest
possible levels of quality care to the community we serve," said Becker, who pioneered accreditation of outpatient surgery centers along
the Treasure Coast in the early 1980's

Becker, F.A.C.S., of Vero Beach was a guest lecturer at a symposium held by The Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the New York Academy of Medicine and The New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons on May 17 in New York. His topic was "Primary Facelifiting: And How My Techniques Have Changed Over the Years." Becker also was made a corresponding member of the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons. BECKER LECTURES AT 2 CONFERENCES
Ferdinand F. Becker, M.D., recently was a guest lecturer at two medical conferences. In September he spoke at the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgery Annual Meeting in Orlando, where he presented "Surgical vs. Nonsurgical Treatment of the Aging Face: What is Appropriate? When?"
Becker also presented three lectures at the Aging Face Conference: A Multi-Disciplinary Approach to the Aging Face held in New York City. In addition, he was a member of four different discussion panels, including discussions on managing complications in eyelid surgery, facelift surgery, browlift surgery and mid-facelifting surgery.

BECKER GIVES WEBCAST
Ferdinand F. Becker, M.D., F.A.C.S., conducted a nationwide webcast for Coapt Systems on Aug. 1. Coapt Systems is involved in the design, development, manufacture and marketing of bio-absorbable implants. Part of Coapt's advanced surgeon education programs includes a series of training programs conducted via webcast. Each session includes a live question and answer segment at the conclusion of the presentation by the surgeon
Becker's topic was "Advanced Techniques for the TransBleph Brow Lift." In addition to having trained several doctors on this technique, Becker has written on this topic.
Becker has been performing facial cosmetic surgery in Vero Beach for more than 25 years and is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is medical director for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Laser Surgery Center and is on staff at Indian River Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Ferdinand Becker has been named a national training center physician for the Botox Cosmetic Network Preceptorship Training Program sponsored by Allergan, which manufactures BOTOX Cosmetic. The program is designed to provide training opportunities to physicians on the proper use of BOTOX Cosmetic. Becker, the medical director at Advanced Facial Cosmetic & Laser Surgery Center Inc. in Vero Beach, was one of the first physicians in the area to use Botox for cosmetic purposes. In addition to providing training to other physicians at the Center, Dr. Becker will be called upon to participate in teleconferences and regional lectures on Botox Cosmetic.

Becker, M.D., F.A.C.S. began his education in medicine at Vanderbilt University (pre-med 1961), and received his M.D. degree in 1965 from the Tulane University School of Medicine. The Samaritan Center recently honored four past board members as “honorary life members.” Those honored were Dr. Ferdinand Becker, Craig Callan, Betty Egan and Patricia Moore. The Samaritan Center is a transitional housing facility serving homeless families of Indian River County. it is an affiliate of the United Way, Children’s Services Advisory Committee and Catholic Charities. It is also a member of the National Council of Accreditation.
